time management

Managing time it something that so many people have a hard time with. I know I do many times. But there are things that can help you, like..

  • Daily planning
  • managing phone calls
  • paperwork
  • open door policy
  • planner
and many more, even more than we have learned about.
You also have tools that you can use to ensure your time is not waisted. Like plan it out, limit things, record results, find the proper fissility, and control the situation. Speaking of control.. You always need to ask yourself " who is in charge?" YOU should be the one to take charge of YOUR time.

How do I spend my time? I don't really let things interrupt me if I have a good flow. But I am bad with prioritizing. If I don't like a talk I usually go around it, or delegate it to others. One things I do really well is do things right the first time so that I don't have to go back and do it again. Because it takes even more of your valuable time!

My time management is pretty much the same. (:

Hope you have an amazing day!!!

team decision

Every year at the end of the season the softball team does a fundraiser. We usually just do a dinner that you can buy at the game and the money goes to the team. But we knew that the rival team's (south summit)  coches family was going through a really hard time. His wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. So we sat down as a team and decided that doing something to help there family is more important that just raising money for our selves. So we talked to the team and decided to all wear our pink jerseys. And so after the game we all presented them with cash, gifts, and as much loving support we could offer. We lost that game, but that didn't matter. It mattered that we touched that families life. We made a choice to better others over ourselves.

i LOVE music (:

Momma's Broken Heart - Go and fix your make up, girl, it’s just a break up
Run and hide your crazy and start actin’ like a lady
'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together
Even when you fall apart

It's your choice if you are going to lay down and cry, or pick yourself off the ground and brush yourself.

Try- Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned
But just because it burns
Doesn't mean you're gonna die
You've gotta get up and try

You have to take chances. If you don't you are going to end up with what you got last time.

Check Yes or NODo you love me, do you wanna be my friend?

And if you doWell then don't be afraid to take me by the handIf you want toI think this is how love goes, check yes or no

When you do finally make a decision you can't hesitate. You can't be afraid of the choices you make. You just kinda have to "ride em' out".

The OutsidersWe’re the bad news
We’re the young guns
We’re the ones that they told you to run from
Yeah, the player’s gonna play, and a haters gonna hate
And a regulators born to regulate
When it hits the fan, and it all goes down
And the gloves come off
You’re gonna find out just
Who we are
We do our talking, walk that walk
Wide open rocking
That’s how we roll
Our backs to the wall
A band of brothers
Together, alone, the outsiders

I think sometimes the hardest part for about making decisions for people is that they fear what others will think. This is my favorite song at the moment. One thing that people find out fast about me is that I am who I am. No matter what and I'm not going to be afraid of decisions.

Wait For Me- You are not alone tonight
Imagine me there by your side
It's so hard to be here so far away from you
I'm counting the days till
I'm finally done
I'm counting them down, yeah, one by one
It feels like forever till I return to you
But it helps me on those lonely nights
It's that one thing that keeps me alive
Knowing that you wait for me
Ever so patiently
No one else knows the feeling inside
We hang up the phone without saying goodnight
Because it's the sound of your voice that brings me home
It's never been easy to say
But it's easier when I've gone away

One of the biggest decions I have made in my life was waiting for Zak. One of the hardest things I have done. Not because it's hard to be faithful, but because it is so hard to be alone and not be able to even talk to him. So when I have a hard time I just listen to this song.

I love you Zakarie Cole Andersen!

I take the path less traveled by..

*Freshman year in softball season* insert flashback here.
I was a 15 year old  girl that just wanted to fit in. I just wanted others to like me. Nothing new there right? Sound like every other girl. We were in St. George for a softball tournament. I didn't really have any friends. But one of the older girls invited me to the little mall with her and a friend. I was so excited.

While we were there they asked me to steal for them from the buckle.. They wanted me to take a bracelet. In my little head I weighed out my options. I might get friends finally. They are my ride back to the hotel. I wont be alone all season.. So what did I do? I took it..

For the rest of the tournament I had two pretty good friends. My conscience eat me alive and I went against what I believed. But hey I was no longer alone.  To top it all off I was starting varsity as a freshman!!

But a week later my "friends" didn't like that I was starting over them, because they were older. So they turned me in to the coach. The coach called me in with them and the principal. They tried to make me seem like I took it and made them take it. I tried to tell them my side of the story and that it wasn't in my attentions. But none the less I made a very bad bad BAD decision!

I was kicked off the team, but was allowed to practice with them. I was given the decision to tell my mom or Mr. Holmes would. I told him that I needed to be responsable for my own actions. He then hugged me and sent me on my way. I told my mom in tears about the horrible thing I had done. She held me and told me I can either lay down and cry (in my room because I was rightfully grounded for 5 months) or I could pick myself up and go show them that I am determined and a better person. So after school I still went to practice. Pride a little hurt, but I still worked to become the player I wanted to be.
I made myself a better person through the decisions I made. They were very bad, but sometimes that's how we have to learn.

Coaching

What is coaching to me?
To me a coach is more than just the title. It is a person that is there to teach you and guide you. They have the hardest job, to inspire.

What does it take to be a great coach?
To be a great coach you have to not only care about what your teaching these people on the court/field you have to care about teaching them in life. You are teaching them life lessons. Good coaches know the people they are working with. They care about those people. They care that thy do will not just in the team but as a person. Coaches don't usually see that they are forming young people.

How does it differ from other helping professions?
Coaches should be worried not only about the performance, but about the person.

I want to talk about a coach that I think is amazing. He has been in the same place that his boys are in. So he talks to them and helps them the way that he was helped or wished he was helped. He cares about those boys. He  pushes them hard and to their limits, so that they know what those limits are. He had one of his boys getting really down on himself after a game and so his took the time out of his day to text him and tell him good job. And to keep his head up. Small things like that, being able to see when something is wrong, makes a huge difference. That coach is my brother Bryer. I'm so proud of the example her has set on and off the court/field. He leads his boys by example. He wants to pass on the knowledge he has gained to those willing to listen. I love you Bry, thanks for being an example.

One thing I hate that one of my coaches has done is when we do something bad, she just shuts down. It's not motivating to hear her say "well, you guys suck."

My favorite coaches are my life coaches. My parents (: They have taught me so much! They let me learn from mistakes but also teach me basics. They are supportive of all that I do. They are the soft embrace and the firm hand when needed. My family coach me by the examples they give me. Good or bad I can learn from it. I love them with all my heart and wouldn't chance what or how they have taught me for anything!

Part two of this fabulous coaching thingy (:

I love looking at coaching. It's fun to see different coaches with their whys and hows of their coaching.

10 keys to the lock of a team!

Number 1- Put the team first!
One person singing can be pretty, but the sound of the choir together.. That's beautiful! A lot of times we worry about our problems (such as how we look in a group or worrying about what people will think.) that we forget to it's not about us, it's about a team. It's about working together as a unit to achieve what you couldn't alone. But sometimes the hardest part about that is we need to learn to ask for help.

Number 2- Communicate openly and candidly!
If you don't talk about your ideas or your plan, it's going to be a mess. No one is going to be on the same page. You have to know where you are, and where you are going. In most bad problems, they are a result of poor communication!

Number 3- Be part of the solution, not the problem!
I remember my sophomore year in Animal Science. I was stuck with three boys that LOVE to goof off and be silly. *cough Koleman*cough Rocky.. So when it came to doing the project I had to do the entire thing on my own. But luckily the teacher saw my hard work, thanks Mrs. Silcox! (;

Number 4- Respect Diversity!
We are all different, we all think, act, talk, walk, everything different. So when you use your differences to your advantage..Who knows where it can take you. You need differences to push you out of the box, expand!

Number 5- Ask and encourage the right questions.
When I train new workers I tell them to ask me a billion questions. Because there is no other way to learn. I can't remember every exact thing to tell you right on the spot while training, so if there is anything you wonder about or is unclear... ASK! Because is you don't as, you will never know! It brings us back to knowledge, the more you know the better you will become.

For these first five keys I'm going to tie them all together in one example. Last year our softball team wanted to do something to help out our rival teams coach. His wife was dx with cancer. We had the great idea that when we plaid them at home we will do a fundraiser and both teams would wear our pink breast cancer jerseys to show our support. All of us put together some cash to get some things for their family. We all brought food for a dinner after the game, that we had everyone pay for. So that money as well as the mean went to them. We put other people before ourselves. We had a lot of planning into it. We put all other things, like the game and the rivalry aside for something much more meaningful. We were two different teams with even more different girls. It wasn't your typical lets raise money kinda thing. We got out of our box. If we had never asked the question "What can we do to help?" we would have never made a difference. It would have been just another game.

Number 6- Problem solving!
Make sure everyone understands the problem and the solution.

Number 7- Build trust!
Be the person you would want to work with in the group. Trust is important in all groups and teams, or not much gets done.

Number 8- Commit to excellence!
Without the drive or with want to do something, why be there? If you don't work hard and want to be there you are just dead weight.

Number 9- Promote interdependent thinking!
You need a strong base to make a strong top. Everyone needs to trust and work together. You are ONE team.

Number 10- Pull the weeds!
Remove negative components so everyone has more room to grow their roots! Be a garden not a single potter plant!

Team Building.. With a beat (:

Teams can be great.. And teams can really suck! I've found that if you can hand pick your team they are better. But it's not how life works. It's always the people that don't have to be involved in the team that get to pick it. Or the people that get to pick the teams don't really know what the people they are choosing are really like.. But I guess it makes up learn to work with different personalities.

Tonight I was watching TV with my dad and the movie Drum Line came on. I don't know if you have seen it, but it describes the stages of team building perfectly! Devin has the talent but he likes the sound of his own drum over the sound of the line. They go through the forming in different ways. Some like Devin are recruited. Others are trying there hardest just to be there. They are one band, but in tryouts they work in sections, then together. Work small to get big. Devin and his section leader butt-heads. Devin wants to lead to her himself, and the section leader wants what's best for the band. Buuuuuuuut.. He has is out for Devin.

The storming process it pretty much them just fight it out on their drums. All sorts of things happen. Solos are taken, challenges are made, and some people even got kicked off the band.
The norming all starts when Devin goes to see his section leader. They let all of their feelings out about each other and even have a little drum battle. In the end his section leader finally say the thing he has been fighting the entire time. "You are the best Devin." But that doesn't matter when you can't use your talents correctly. And in the moment they both knew that they needed each other.
Preforming starts right after this. They get involved with all of the band to make a kick ass piece for the classic. They try to beat there classless rivals *cough cough sough summit* in the finally. They work by the motto "One band, One sound." Which I think can be used in many different groups.

not a goal.. but a home run!

GOOOOOOOOOAL! .. No thank you. I'm in it for a home run! Softball is my passion. This coming September I plan to try out for the Weber State Softball Team! I think it would be good for me. Get to travel, make me work hard on my grades and the sport. I will get to meet new people. Maybe even get some of my school paid for! I know it's going to be a lot of work, but I like the challenge. Softball is one of those things for me that washes away all the worries. I could be in that red dirt and green grass all day. It makes me happy. I learned a lot of the stuff I know on my own.. I don't really know how, it just kinda happened naturally.

I hate talking about myself..

I'm a pretty simple kinda gal. There is nothing super extraordinary about me. I am the baby of a yours, mine, and ours family. I'm a country gal. I would rather be on the back of a horse on the top of a mountain than anywhere else. I would rather be on a four-wheeler covered in mud than shopping. Ever sense I was little I didn't care about what I was wearing, I just wanted to be outside.
I am an odd creature. I over think things way too much. I don't talk to many people, so they have a tendency to think that I am a this or I'm a that.. But it's never really bothered me. My mom has always told me to know my truth, and that I do. A lot of the people I do talk to I put up a wall with, because I get hurt a lot. So it's easier to just keep them out. I don't really know when I started doing that. Because when I was little I was a social butterfly. I use to sing all the time, to anyone who would listen. But now the only people that ever hear it is my parents. Speaking of them, they are my best friends. My family members are some of  the only people I feel 110% myself around.

A few years ago I did the worst thing you could ever do.. I fell in love. Now I know what you're thinking "just another teenage girl story." I promise it's not. His name is Zakarie Cole Andersen. He's my best friend. He is one of the few I can be myself with. He is a lot like me. We go out fishing, hunting, and hiking. Those are our dates. He's a Marine. So he's gone a lot.. It's hard because it's like being in a relationship with yourself. And I love him to the ends of this earth.. But who knows if he will still feel the same when he comes home. Or if he will come home.. See, there is the over thinking thing.. OUGH. But gosh do I love that man. Because of this a lot of things have changed in my life. A lot of plans. When he come home from Afghanistan I will probably be moving to California for a little over a year, tell he gets out of the corps. Along with many other things.

     My hubby at work!! <3

I love to take and edit pictures!
I don't know what got me into it, but it's what I love to do. My other obsession is tattoos. Zak is covered in them .. I think some of them are kinda dumb.. ha but it's because they have no meaning behind them.. But whatever makes him happy(: To each his own. All the ones I get will be something close to my heart. First will be a flower arrangement with all of my families birth flower.  The next will be a manorial piece to my best friend that past away..

He was camping with his brother, who is a marine home on leave. And looked up to his brother so much, he wanted to be a marine too. He was showing him some marine tactics with a hand gun. There wasn't suppose to be a round in the chamber.. But there was. He was shot on the head.. We use to talk on the phone for hours.. and he called me a hour before he was shot. I woke up and had voice mail from him. He said" I'm sorry I missed you hun, but good night. Sweet dreams, I love you."  Then I smiled and deleted it can called him back, but there was no answer. Then later I got the news. I would do anything to just have answered.. Or to just keep that voice mail! For a long long time I had some really bad depression issues.. I'm better now, but nothing breaks my heart more. But I tell myself that the last thing he ever said to me what I love you.. And I know it's true.
Rest in peace CamBam <3
