Tonight I was watching TV with my dad and the movie Drum Line came on. I don't know if you have seen it, but it describes the stages of team building perfectly! Devin has the talent but he likes the sound of his own drum over the sound of the line. They go through the forming in different ways. Some like Devin are recruited. Others are trying there hardest just to be there. They are one band, but in tryouts they work in sections, then together. Work small to get big. Devin and his section leader butt-heads. Devin wants to lead to her himself, and the section leader wants what's best for the band. Buuuuuuuut.. He has is out for Devin.
The storming process it pretty much them just fight it out on their drums. All sorts of things happen. Solos are taken, challenges are made, and some people even got kicked off the band.
The norming all starts when Devin goes to see his section leader. They let all of their feelings out about each other and even have a little drum battle. In the end his section leader finally say the thing he has been fighting the entire time. "You are the best Devin." But that doesn't matter when you can't use your talents correctly. And in the moment they both knew that they needed each other.
Preforming starts right after this. They get involved with all of the band to make a kick ass piece for the classic. They try to beat there classless rivals *cough cough sough summit* in the finally. They work by the motto "One band, One sound." Which I think can be used in many different groups.
